About Ofpetinko
Precision optical lens design and manufacturing · Cruz Quebrada, Lisbon, Portugal
Who we are
Ofpetinko is an optical manufacturer. We design and build precision optical lenses for industrial use — machine vision, cameras and sensors, laser systems, medical devices, automotive and general industrial optics.
The company was founded in 2026 and operates from the Lisbon area, at Passeio Marítimo de Algés, Cruz Quebrada. We work with customers across Portugal and the rest of Europe, and correspond in English and Portuguese.
Everything we sell is made to a customer specification. We do not run a catalogue: each lens is designed around your wavelength, field, packaging and performance targets rather than fitting you to an existing part.
From requirement to prototype to series
One team carries a lens through the whole route, so the design that is proven on the bench is the design that goes into production.
- Requirements. We turn your application into a written optical specification: wavelength, aperture, field, environment, mechanical envelope and performance targets.
- Optical design. We model and optimise the design, then tolerance it against the processes we actually run, so the drawing is manufacturable before anyone cuts glass.
- Prototype. We produce and measure a first article. You approve it against the spec before the project moves on.
- Tooling and pilot run. We prepare tooling, fixtures and process parameters matched to your material and geometry, then run a pilot batch to confirm yield.
- Series production. The same qualified process scales from pilot batches to full volume, with coating and inspection kept in the same flow.
Prototypes usually ship in two to three weeks. Volume runs depend on quantity, material and coating, and you receive a firm schedule together with the quote.
What we work with
Optical glass, fused silica, crystals and optical-grade polymers, chosen for your wavelength, operating environment and production volume.
Grinding, polishing and figuring to tight tolerances; anti-reflective, mirror and filter coatings matched to your wavelength range; single elements through to multi-element assemblies. Design, manufacturing, coating and metrology are all done in house, which is what keeps the loop between measurement and correction short.
How we control quality
Quality control is built into the route rather than bolted on at the end:
- Every specification is agreed in writing before design work begins, so there is a single reference to measure against.
- The first article is fully measured and formally approved before series production is released.
- Every critical dimension and surface is inspected in house, using interferometry and surface testing.
- Process parameters are fixed at the pilot stage and carried unchanged into volume, so batches stay comparable.
- Each shipment travels with a documented inspection report tied to the agreed specification.
If a part does not meet the agreed specification, we say so and rework it rather than shipping it and hoping.
